Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible
The Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible, which made its debut at the Miami Boat Show, was just shown at Australia’s Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, where editor in chief George Sass put her through her paces. This Maritimo 440 features a new interior with updated soft goods and joinery. Three staterooms and two heads provide a lot of accommodation in the 44-foot boat and an aft galley with doors that open to the salon accentuate the spaciousness. An enclosed bridge, which is unusual on a boat under 50-feet, provides a second, outdoor living space. Twin IPS 600 drives of 435-horsepower (each), let Sass hit a top speed of 32 knots on his test and a cruise speed of 25 knots at 3,000 rpm. Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge
The Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge is an Aussie entry debuting at the Sanctuary Cove show that also claims a lot of room for its length. The first Riviera Flybridge in the 50-foot range to offer a full-beam master stateroom, the 53’s master has a king-size bed and large ensuite head. Forward of the master is a queen guest stateroom and a third cabin with two single berths. A separate ensuite serves the guest accommodations and has access for use as a day head. The 53’s aft U-shaped galley located to port is handy to the salon and the cockpit and a wet bar to starboard offers optional icemaker, fridge and freezer drawers as well as floor to ceiling pantry stowage. Forward of the galley is a C-shape dinette to port with a drop down table that converts to a double berth. A C-Shape settee to starboard has seating for up to 10. An enclosed flybridge, accessed by an internal staircase, also features plentiful seating. A starboard docking station on the flybridge provides clear lines of sight aft and a nifty option lets owners choose between a helm forward flybridge for long-distance cruising or a helm aft, for angling. Riviera has equipped the 53 with triple Volvo IPS 600 drives with a reported top speed of about 35 knots and a cruising speed between 25-28 knots. There are a number of fuel capacity and engine options available including twin IPS 1200 units or a ZF 4000 pod drive system. www.riviera.com.au
