#ThereIsNoSecond

In 1851, upon being told that the schooner America had passed the Royal Yacht to take the lead in a race off Britain’s Isle of Wight, Queen Victoria asked an attendant which yacht was in second place. “Your majesty,” the attendant answered, “there is no second.” Here we are 166 years later, and those famous words are now trending on Twitter with links to racing news, on-water videos and more.

#bermuda

When the racing crew and support staff take a few minutes off, they join fans in the official America’s Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard and occasionally turn up on other parts of Bermuda as well. Look for this hashtag to find all things island-related, including snapshots from non-racing yachts that are cruising and chartering in the area.
