Meet the Mega-Rib

The Strider 22 is 72 feet of totally tubular Italian imagination.

Strider 22

The Strider 22 is being billed as a “mega-rib” at 72 feet LOA.

Here’s something new and different: the Strider 22 “mega-rib” concept yacht. She’s the 72-foot brainchild of Christian Grande, who is known for his work with Sanlorenzo and Sessa Marine. This time, he teamed with Sacs Marine for what they are calling a new-age, unsinkable RIB.

Each owner can customize the interior to his heart’s content. The bow comes equipped with seating cushions, retractable sofas and a table with retractable awning. The stern includes a swim platform that can be lowered below water level, plus a set of stairs that lift to provide access to the tender garage.

Marketers are aiming for adventurous boaters with the Strider 22, calling its shapes “zoomorphic” and suggesting that its side air intakes seem like “feral muscles waiting to pounce on prey.”

We’re not too sure how to feel about those descriptions, but the Strider 22 looks like a killer new design, for sure.
