Singapore-based builder Strategic Marine is entering the superyacht sector with a new 138-foot yacht support vessel concept developed in collaboration with MAG Subsea and Australian naval architecture firm Southerly Designs.

Designed to accompany a mothership on extended cruising programs, the aluminum vessel is intended to expand a yacht’s operational range while providing storage, logistics and support capabilities for adventure-focused owners. The concept reflects growing demand for expedition-style cruising, where support vessels serve as floating bases for tenders, water toys, helicopters, submersibles and additional crew.

The support vessel measures 138 feet length overall and offers more than 1,500 square feet of open deck space. Strategic Marine says the platform can be customized to suit a variety of mission profiles, with crane and lifting systems capable of handling specialized equipment and expedition gear.

According to the builder, flexibility was a primary design objective. The vessel can be configured for a wide range of operational requirements, including emergency-response capabilities that broaden its role beyond traditional yacht support duties. Owners can also specify gyro stabilization systems and hybrid propulsion packages tailored to their cruising plans and operational needs.

Strategic Marine is best known for building high-performance aluminum commercial vessels, while MAG Subsea provides yacht management, custom yacht design and maritime services throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Southerly Designs brings decades of naval architecture experience, with more than 650 commercial and specialty vessels currently in operation worldwide.
