The Simrad NSO16 evo2 glass bridge system was named winner of the Innovation Award in consumer electronics at the 2014 Miami International Boat Show.

The awards competition is organized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and judged by members of Boating Writers International. It recognizes innovative distinction among other products on the market along with practicality and cost effectiveness.

Simrad’s NSO evo2 provides multi-touch controls for charting, sonar, radar and entertainment with dual widescreen displays. “More computing power, less installation complexity and incredible functionality is a winning combination,” judge Zuzana Prochazka said of the glass bridge system.

“We are thrilled the NSO16 evo2 system has been honored with this prestigious industry accolade,” Navico CEO Leif Ottosson stated in a news release. “It’s no coincidence that the NSO evo2 was selected by Cobia Boats as the navigation system for its 344 center console, which also received the NMMA’s Best in Show Award.”
