United Yacht Sales currently has Serenity, a Marquis 65, listed with an asking price of $1.35 million. This 2008 flybridge motor yacht is packed with spaces future owners and their guests are sure to enjoy from its four well-appointed staterooms to its EZ2CY enclosed flybridge.

When Yachting first wrote about the Marquis 65, we noted how “The new 65-footer is not simply a bigger Carver, in concept or in execution; she is a whole new animal. The company reached beyond its own doors to ensure the new series would be not just what Carver wanted, but what knowledgeable yachtsmen would demand. She is nothing short of world-class.”

To that end, Serenity’s salon has a sense of volume and warmth because of its open floorplan with the country galley forward, rich, high-gloss wood finishes and natural light from nearly 360 degrees of glass. Owners can dial in the desired natural lighting via automatic blinds. The salon also has a three-person sofa and coffee table to port with four lounge chairs positioned around the salon. A spiral staircase to starboard leads to this yacht’s flybridge.

Forward, the Marquis 65’s country galley has two separate countertops, leaving plenty of room for the family to help out with meal prep. It’s also equipped with all stainless-steel appliances, including a double-door refrigerator with a freezer drawer and an ice maker, a full-size electric oven with cooktop, an overhead microwave, a dishwasher and a trash compactor. A wrap-around dinette is forward of the galley and has room for eight.

Belowdecks are sleeping accommodations for seven. The full-beam owners’ stateroom is amidships and has a king berth, a flat-screen TV, en suite head and enough stowage space for an extended cruise. The forepeak VIP stateroom has a centerline queen berth, and en suite head. Abaft the VIP stateroom and to port is a twin berth guest stateroom with an en suite head. To starboard, is a single berth guest space. There is a single-berth crew cabin with an en suite head aft, accessible through the engine room.

Guests can enjoy shaded alfresco dining in the cockpit, which has a table and a transom bench seat. Pull up a few loose chairs and there’s seating for up to eight for brunch. Stairs flanking the transom lead to the yacht’s hydraulic swim platform, which accommodates the yacht’s 15-foot Zar RIB tender. The tender is included in the sale.

The foredeck has a two-person sun pad for guests interested in catching some sun after a morning swim.

There are multiple entertainment spaces on Serenity’s flybridge. To port, a three-person C-shaped bar is abaft the three-seat helm station. An L-shaped sofa and fixed table are to starboard, and with loose chairs there’s room for eight. The open after section of the flybridge has a rear-facing bench seat and room to add loose chairs when it’s time to take in the view and enjoy some sundowners with friends.

Power for Serenity comes from twin 1,000 hp Caterpillar C18 diesels, giving the yacht a reported 20-knot cruising speed.

“The Marquis 65 is a dream under way, both at sea and in tight quarters. She rides like a much larger yacht, yet handles like one much smaller. We ran at speed through some confused slop offshore, and her quick response to the rudders and trim tabs hoisted the bow easily as we turned into the seas and passed a boat 30 feet longer having a much tougher time of it.”

Between 2018 and 2022 Serenity underwent a number of improvements, including an Explorer 950 water maker, two new A/C compressors, new aft deck seating, new bow cushions/cover, new air handlers in the master and VIP staterooms, new bedding in master and guest staterooms, new TV, A/V receiver and speakers in salon, a Wifi boost antenna, Sanos throughout with speakers, Fusion audio on flybridge, sliding tender chocks–up to 18 feet, New MarQuipt tide ride ladder, new starter motors, new batteries for mains and gens, New teak table on flybridge, the addition of Starlink and new trim tab actuators.
