And no, we don’t think what you did is cool because you posted it on YouTube, either.

Clearly, the skipper of this boat was not paying attention back in June, when we reported that anglers and boaters ranked in two out of the top three spots when it comes to being struck by lightning.

And so, in honor of this video homage to stupidity, we shall repeat: Lightning can strike from as far as 10 miles away. If you can hear thunder, then you are in danger.

The only safe place to be during a thunderstorm is inside a building with four walls and a roof, or inside a car, according to NOAA’s National Weather Service.
