Zeelander Yachts in the Netherlands has completed an expansion that increased construction space by 40 percent, allowing for an increase of staff and new build slots to open up this year.

A staff-recruitment drive enlarged the Zeelander workforce by 45 percent, according to the company.

“Strong demand for Zeelander’s yachts, especially in the U.S. and the Netherlands, persuaded us of the wisdom of investing in sustainable growth,” founder Sietse Koopmans stated in a press release. “Fortunately, we have been able to do this at the existing waterside site in Groot-Ammers, where we have added building sheds and office space, as well as a dedicated paint booth. We may be growing, but it is not our ambition to be the biggest. We remain committed to being the best.”

The paint booth can accommodate yachts as big as 82 feet length overall.

Will the first Zeelander 5 launch this year? Yes. The yard says the 48-foot boat is expected to hit the water in the spring, with another new, even bigger model to follow.
