Cantiere delle Marche has launched Octopus, the first Deep Blue 115, a 115-foot (35-meter) explorer yacht that builds on the Italian builder’s successful Deep Blue concept first introduced with the 141-foot Acala.
Designed in collaboration with naval architect and exterior designer Horacio Bozzo, the new yacht retains the bold styling and expedition-ready capability of her larger predecessor while adapting the platform for a more compact footprint. Giorgio M. Cassetta created the interiors, described as an eclectic, colorful interpretation of long-range voyaging.
At 115 feet overall with a 24-foot, 9-inch beam, Octopus is powered by twin Caterpillar C18 IMO Tier III diesel engines, each producing 715 hp. A fuel capacity of nearly 11,900 gallons helps deliver a top speed of 13.5 knots and a reported transoceanic range of 5,500 nautical miles at 9 knots.
Exterior highlights include the Deep Blue series’ signature flared bow and “beak” profile, oversized forward main-deck windows, a spacious aft cockpit with a swimming pool, and a generous swim platform. A tender garage is positioned aft with a side-opening hatch to port.
Interior accommodations are arranged for 10 guests in five staterooms, including an owner’s suite, while quarters for seven crew are spread across four cabins. With a displacement of 325 tons and gross tonnage of 299 GT, Octopus continues CdM’s focus on capable, custom explorer yachts designed for extended cruising in comfort. The launch also reinforces demand for the Deep Blue platform, with two additional Deep Blue 141 models reportedly under construction for delivery in 2027 and 2028.
