JFA Yachts has delivered Canoa, a 164-foot explorer yacht developed with Humphreys Yacht Design. The largest yacht built by the French shipyard, Canoa is designed for extended passages, with a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The yacht combines an aluminum hull with glass/epoxy composite superstructures, a construction approach that reduces weight aloft and lowers the center of gravity. Humphreys Yacht Design also developed the fast-displacement hull, while m2atelier handled the interior.

Canoa uses a parallel hybrid propulsion system, pairing two MTU 12V 2000 M72 diesels with electric motors. The electric drive can be used for low-speed operation and harbor maneuvering, while the diesel engines provide the range for longer passages. A substantial battery bank and solar panels supplement the yacht’s onboard energy needs.

The 164-footer accommodates 10 guests and nine crew across four decks, with an aft deck sized to carry two tenders. The yacht is equipped with fin and gyroscopic stabilizers for comfort underway and at anchor, while a dynamic positioning system allows the yacht to hold station without anchoring when conditions permit.
