The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show celebrates 50 years of bringing world-class yachts to the waters of South Florida. The show will take place this October 29 to November 3. To commemorate the show’s milestone, Ft. The International Yacht Restoration School (IYRS) in Newport, Rhode Island, will kick off their Fall Lecture Series this October 27. The first lecture will be by Earl McMillen, of McMillen Yachts, as he talks about “The Restoration of Freedom,” and will talk about what it took to restore the 83-year-old, 104-foot yacht to its current beautiful state. www.iyrs.org

Also celebrating their five-decade anniversary this year is the International Boat Show of Hamburg, or the Hanseboot. The show is scheduled to begin this October 24 and run through November 1, and will play home to almost 40 powerboat premiers. www.hamburg-messe.de
