The award-winning builder Yachting Developments is expanding its Auckland, New Zealand, operations to include not just new construction, but also refit, haul-out, surveys, interior fittings and repair services.

Yachting Developments downsized in early 2013 after new-build orders decreased. The remaining staff has worked on several refits during the past 18 months, creating a new avenue for the yard’s viability going forward.

“We want to send the message that we are very much open for business and offer skilled, superyacht-quality labor across all disciplines,” Ian Cook, managing director, stated in a press release. “Our team is able to serve all areas of the marine sector, whether new build, refit or interior work, and no job is too small or big.”

Yachting Developments is perhaps best-known for its refit of the J-Class yacht Endeavour. Most recently, it launched the 100-foot sailing catamaran Quintessential.
