World ARC 2012
Vessels depart from the Caribbean in January of 2012. The fleet sails to Panama and transit the Panama Canal, then head into the Pacific Ocean. Stops are planned in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands and South Pacific islands such as Hiva Oa, the Tuamotos, Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, Niue and Tonga are all along the route. By July (approximately) the rally will reach Fiji and cruise to Cairns, Australia. There is a cruise inside the Great Barrier Reef organized before the vessels depart for the next leg, which goes across the top of Australia and leads them into the Indian Ocean. The rally visits Bali, Cocos Keeling and Chagos, and reaches Mauritius in October (approximately). The vessels then cruise to Richards Bay, South Africa, and work their way south to Cape Town by Christmas, 2012. In January of 2013 the vessels head out from Cape Town and cross the Atlantic to Brazil, and by April the vessels are back in the Caribbean.
