That Was One Heck of a Refit

Altair previously was known as Kora 5 until a refit in 2012. Her co-owner, Paolo Scerni, suggested that the refit and rechristening may have given the yacht the extra mojo needed to win.

“It is funny because we came in third with the Swan 90 Kora 5 in 2011, then after her refit last year and newly named as Altair, we came in second, and now this year we have won,” Scerni said. “I think Nautor’s Swan did a good job on the refit!”

Other sailing yacht owners, take note: A good refit can get you more than new upholstery. It may also get you to the medal stand.
