It’s not unusual to see a head-turning superyacht tied to the quay at Lürssen’s shipyard in Germany, but recently yacht-spotters were treated to a double dose of grandeur, as the 341-foot Quantum Blue and the 377-foot Pelorus were practically bow-to-stern with each other.

Pelorus was completing a refit, while Quantum Blue (recently delivered) was preparing for her maiden cruise this spring. Both yachts are Tim Heywood designs.

Lürssen had six yachts at its facilities in northern Germany this winter, with work including new construction as well as refit and repair. More than 1,800 people are involved, including engineers, naval architects and craftsmen, all of whom have helped to make refit, repair and conversion a core business for the brand.
