Si-Tex bills its new CVS-832C as a high-performance sounder for serious fishermen. It has a 1,000-watt RMS (8,000 peak to peak) with power reducer that should help anglers penetrate deep waters and get a detailed picture of what’s going on under the boat. The sounder has eight range scales from 10 to 4,000 feet, and its Mix Mode helps the unit highlight small targets, such as individual bait fish. The 6.5-inch color TFT LCD offers a choice of eight or 16 colors and lets users select a contrasting background to enhance the display for night or daylight viewing. Among the other features are dual-frequency operation (50/200 kHz), split-screen displays in vertical and horizontal, bottom discrimination mode to expand bottom images and better determine hardness, and A-scope to display instant imaging of fish and bottom detail directly under the boat. Price: $1,799. Si-Tex Marine Electronics, (727) 576-5734; www.si-tex.com.
