Sunrise Yachts is preparing for the public debut of the 147-foot Atomic, which is the second launch in the Turkish builder’s 45-meter series. The first, Africa, launched five years ago.

Atomic is expected to be on display at this week’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She recently was delivered to her North American owner — who had her built as a surprise for his family and kept the project secret from them until the date approached for her maiden cruise in Greece and Turkey.

“I was thrilled to step aboard Atomic at the launch,” the owner stated in a press release. “As I walked around the yacht, I found everything to be just as designed. The team at Sunrise have built a masterpiece, perfect in fit and finish, and crafted with a talent for detail.”

The trideck yacht has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, and comes in at 499 gross tons. She has a full-length technical tunnel that runs from her engine room to the bow-thruster compartment, giving crew easy access to tanks and most systems.

Franck Darnet Design handled interior design, as was also the case with Africa, which had dark tropical woods. Atomic is more contemporary with light veneers and bright colors.
