Porto Montenegro is expanding from 245 to 490 berths by this summer.

Porto Montenegro

Porto Montenegro is expanding in time for the 2014 Mediterranean cruising season.

Porto Montenegro, a popular jumping-off point for cruising itineraries that include Croatia, has begun work that will double the number of berths in its marina from 245 to 490. The expansion is scheduled to be done in time for this summer’s cruising season in the Mediterranean.

The marina additions are part of a larger development plan that, during the next two years, will make Porto Montenegro one of the largest yacht destinations in the Mediterranean with superyacht capacity and services that compete on a worldwide scale.

“The expansion of the marina is not only a testament of success for Porto Montenegro, it also confirms that the Adriatic has cemented itself as an exciting destination for yachts of all sizes and classes,” marina Director Tony Browne stated in a news release. “The new berth mix will appeal to both ends of the yachting market, especially for the super and megayachts that will soon be supported by the new state-of-the-art maintenance and refit facility.”
