Heesen Yachts recently began sea trials aboard the 131-foot Galatea, which it calls a “sportster” megayacht design. Projected top speeds for the yacht were 27.5 knots, but she hit 29.7 in what the builder says were “perfect sea conditions” at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands.

Galatea is powered by twin 3,800-hp MTUs and has gyrostabilizers on board. She is the first in a new series for the builder, with a design based on its 37-meter class of megayachts (10 of those were sold). Her hull is all-aluminum and semi-displacement.

Delivery of Galatea to her owners is expected this month.
