The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has predicted an “active or extremely active” hurricane season for 2013, with a likelihood of 13 to 20 named storms. Hopefully, none of them will be as bad as Superstorm Sandy, which hit the New York City region in 2012 and became the second most expensive hurricane in U.S. history — leaving a trail of debris and lessons that can help boaters better prepare for this year’s worst storms.
To share the lessons learned, BoatUS has launched three online seminars that show what worked and what didn’t when it came to protecting boats during Superstorm Sandy.
Each one-hour seminar was designed for marina and boat club managers, but can be used by everyday boat owners as well. All information presented came from the BoatUS Catastrophe Response Team, which talks about best lessons learned for storing boats on land and on water.
