The Highlander
The Highlander, the Forbes family’s famous 151-foot Feadship that has entertained celebrities, politicians and of course capitalists around Manhattan, is now up for sale. The vessel was mothballed at Bradford Marine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2009, during the economic downturn. “I don’t think they wanted to be seen cruising around in a 150-foot Feadship with everything that was going on,” said worldwide central agent for the vessel, Whit Kirkland, whose father, Fred Kirkland, sold her to Malcolm Forbes in the mid-’80s. “In my opinion, the family felt it was just time to move on.” She is listed by Bradford Marine Yacht Sales for $11.5 million. www.bradfordmarineyachtsales.com
