OceanScape Yachts, a new partner of YachtAid Global, plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign on September 9 to support the delivery of aid via superyachts to communities in need.
The online campaign is intended both to raise money for YachtAid Global and to expose the superyacht industry to a wider audience. Pledges will be accepted from $2 to $65,000, with rewards ranging from an e-book of chefs’ recipes to a week-long yacht vacation. A portion of all pledges will go to YachtAid Global.
“I am very excited to announce our partnership with YachtAid Global,” said Todd Beechey, president of OceanScape Yachts. “We think that there is a very good fit between the two organizations, where we are both using innovative, new approaches to achieve our goals.”
OceanScape Yachts is a company designed to bring a timeshare or vacation-club style business approach to luxury yacht vacations.
YachtAid Global is a volunteer-run organization that so far has helped more than 15,000 people in need, with another 15 deliveries of supplies already scheduled before the end of 2014.
