TPSB
After 20 years of unwavering service in overseas operations such as Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom as well as on the home front after September 11 and Hurricane Katrina, the Coast Guard’s 25-foot Transportable Port Security Boat (TPSB) is facing retirement. Set to replace it will be the 32-foot TPSB.
In addition to seven extra feet in length overall, this new recruit boasts a more streamlined hull and shock mitigation seats for a stabilized ride in rough seas. Armor plating for enhanced crew safety can be added, as can .50 caliber and M240 machine guns.
The first two 32-foot TPSBs traveled 2,800 miles from Dover, Delaware to begin their deployment at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.
