Bochinche, a 2005 Grand Alaskan 65 Flush Deck, is US-registered but currently located in Spain. This two-owner trawler offers accommodations for six guests in three staterooms, making it well-suited for extended passages. The yacht is now listed for sale by Outer Reef Yachts at $1.4 million.
Powered by twin Caterpillar C-12 diesel engines with 1,738 hours, Bochinche reportedly cruises at 12 knots. The yacht has a semidisplacement hull form, contributing to a stable, efficient ride, as does the yacht’s stabilizer system. The layout includes wide side decks, an enclosed cockpit and a Portuguese bridge.

Boarding Bochinche is via the swim platform, with access to the cockpit through a transom door. A transom settee is shaded by the flybridge overhang. There are two teak tables for alfresco dining.
The flybridge, accessed via a stainless-steel ladder, has an extended fiberglass hardtop, providing shade for about 50 percent of the flybridge. The helm is equipped with repeaters for all major electronics, while an L-shaped settee and table offer a spot for socializing and enjoying ocean views. The aft deck has space for a tender and a hydraulic davit. Additional real estate provides room for lounging or sunbathing.

Bochinche’s salon setup includes an L-shaped settee with a high-low table. An array of windows in the superstructure provide natural light and panoramic views, while rich teak joinery, a wood sole and subtle lighting create a warm atmosphere. The salon flows seamlessly into the galley and the pilothouse.
Forward of the salon, the galley has full-size appliances, including a refrigerator, oven, cooktop, microwave and dishwasher. Corian countertops and cabinetry offer plenty of meal-rep space and stowage for provisions. The galley’s open design keeps the chef connected to guests in the salon and pilothouse. Three stools at the galley counter provide a casual dining option.

After a day of cruising and evening star-gazing, guests can retreat to one of three staterooms. The full-beam owners’ stateroom is amidships with a queen-size berth, generous stowage space and an en suite head with shower. The forepeak VIP stateroom has a queen-size island berth and access to a second head, while the third stateroom, with over-under berths, is ideal for the kids. All staterooms are finished in warm wood paneling, have high-quality fabrics and opening portlights and integrated entertainment systems.
Outer Reef Yachts stated, “The comfort and excellent seakeeping ability due to her semi-displacement hull form, lets you cruise far and wide in complete safety and luxury. A great family yacht that is particularly well designed for the safety of children on board, with her wide decks and enclosed cockpit and Portuguese bridge. She would make a fantastic yacht for a couple of seasons in Europe and then can be shipped back to the US where she will be US compliant and ready to go.”

Where is Bochinche located? The yacht is currently lying in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
