Alter Ego is a Ferretti 850 located in Boca Raton, Florida, and offered by Allied Marine for $3.957 million. It’s been recently maintained with annual inspections for fire and safety compliance completed in early 2025 and bottom paint and Prop Speed in December 2024. The vessel has four guest staterooms and accommodations for four crew in two additional cabins.
The Ferretti Yachts 850 is based on the popular 800 and has a raised pilothouse. The profile is interesting, but it’s the superstructure and hull glazing that really draw the eye. There’s almost a retro quality to this model, and the way the raised pilothouse melds into the flybridge without clear delineation is unusual. It’s both timeless and elegant.

Power is supplied by a pair of 1,900 hp MAN V12 engines with approximately 1,860 hours on them, the larger option of the two engine packages available. Ferretti quotes a top hop of 31 knots for the 850 with this power package. Alter Ego has two Cummins generators with recently completed 1,500-hour service on both, along with zero-speed fin stabilization. It also has a fuel capacity of 1,783 gallons for extended range at cruising speed.
Additional systems updates on Alter Ego include:
- Starlink internet system
- JBL audio system
- Apple TV in every guest stateroom and main salon

Yachting previously wrote: “Inside, the main salon is typical Ferretti: oh so chic. But actually, this space is an open canvas all the way to the side-deck door to port and lower-deck staircase to starboard. A wall beyond there separates the guest zone and the crew area. The first 850 had dark-stained oak veneers and free-standing Minotti furniture, but there are all manner of options. Below-decks are four en suite staterooms with similar design flair.”

Where is Alter Ego located? The yacht is currently lying in Boca Raton, Florida. Note that this vessel is not for sale to US residents while in US waters.
