Arthur DeFever designed a line of commercial fishing hulls which became popular with yachtsmen, who then modified them for long-range family cruising. While no longer in production, there are still many options to buy a DeFever on the brokerage market. One of those opportunities is this 1986 DeFever 72, known as Neptune II. The vessel also has two Northern Lights generators, a fuel-polishing system, an oil change system, two 3,000-watt power inverters, Naiad stabilizers, bow thruster, solar panels and a watermaker.
The accommodations consist of four staterooms, each with an en suite head and enclosed shower. The full-beam master stateroom is located aft with a centerline queen berth.
The galley is port and starboard forward in the salon and has the following options and equipment:
- Granite countertops

- Maytag 5-burner electric cooktop and oven
- LG microwave oven
- Bosch dishwasher
