The Bertram 35 Still Fishes Like a Legend

A hull redesigned in 2017 kept the classic Bertram DNA intact while modern propulsion gives it a faster, smoother ride.

Although Bertram Yachts unveiled a new design for its classic 35-footer in 2017, being on board feels like cruising with a legend that’s born to fish hard. Bertram set up the 35 with rod holders, a livewell, in-deck fish boxes and a transom door as standard equipment.

Optional teak decking and covering boards add a custom look, while engine-box cushions create sun pads and lounge areas. At press time, there were two new-era Bertram 35s for sale, priced from $595,000 to $699,000.

“Up top, the flybridge is uncluttered. The optional teak helm pod with Palm Beach controls is a nice touch to the raised console that houses multifunction displays and the Caterpillar engines’ 7-inch display. Ancillary systems such as switches, a VHF radio, thruster controls and more are in a recessed helm box to starboard. The options list includes a Seakeeper gyro, electronics and tower/hardtop choices.”
