Boat Show Bonanzas

If you’re hunting for a new boat, the coming fall boat shows will be open season.

We know, we know. It’s way too early to be thinking about autumn—unless you’re thinking of buying a new boat! Start your research now by reading Yachting On Boards, features, and brokerage advertisements. Make a list of your dream vessel’s most important features, and those you’d like, but be willing to live without. Establish a budget and compare what’s out there to see the possibilities that are within your reach. If the global economic slump has discouraged your boating dreams, you might be very pleasantly surprised to see how far your dollar goes on the docks these days. Talk to your fellow boating enthusiasts for their ideas and recommendations and consider the pros and cons of buying new versus used. If you can do it, get out there and test a few models before the fall boat shows. The more you know going into the boat show season, where dealers and brokers are making deals, the better prepared you’ll be to buy the boat you want at the best possible price. If hitting the boat show circuit this fall is part of your buying strategy, you’ll also want to make your travel plans and hotel reservations soon. Here’s a list of places where you can go hunting.
