Created by Misha Merzliakov Yacht Design, with naval architecture by Periscope Naval Architects, the all-aluminum Shogun explorer yacht blends purposeful capability with a clean, minimalist design ethos.
Named after Japan’s historic military leaders, Shogun draws on Japanese influences for its bold exterior styling. The yacht’s profile is deliberate and angular, with expansive glazing and multiple open-air social spaces designed to keep guests connected to their surroundings, whether cruising tropical islands or the Mediterranean coast.
With a 29-foot, 6-inch beam and an 8-foot, 2-inch draft, the sub-500-gross-ton vessel is designed as a low-draft, long-range explorer capable of accessing shallower waters and cruising closer to reefs and shorelines. Top speed is projected at 15 knots, with an efficient 10-knot cruising speed intended for extended passages.
Accommodations are planned for 10 to 12 guests, supported by a crew of eight. Interior styling is described as “coastal minimalism,” emphasizing restrained luxury and natural light. Two salons are included in the standard arrangement, with an optional full-beam skylounge configuration available.
Outdoor living is a key focus. Open-air dining and lounge areas are integrated throughout the design, while an aft beach club features hull-side doors and an opening transom for direct water access. Space for a variety of tenders and toys is incorporated both above and below deck.
The concept is also paired with the Salt A44 chase boat, another Merzliakov design from Australian builder Salt Yachts, offering owners a complementary platform for day trips and watersports.Positioned as a warm-water expedition yacht for adventurous owners, Shogun emphasizes capability, comfort and a close connection to the sea.
