Benetti Oasis 36M Puts Life at Sea First

The latest Oasis model delivers more outdoor living space, longer stays at anchor and quieter, more efficient operation.

Benetti’s new Oasis 36M, unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, is the latest evolution of the Italian builder’s popular Oasis family. Developed with British design firm RWD and Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, the 118-foot (36-meter) yacht builds on the experience gathered from the fleet, with a focus on how owners and guests actually use their yachts.

The result is a yacht with expanded outdoor living areas, including the sun deck, upper-deck terrace and signature Oasis Deck with its fold-down wings. Interior spaces have also been reworked for a more open, airy feel, while redesigned crew pathways keep service discreet and separate from guest areas.

A newly developed bow bulb reduces hydrodynamic resistance by more than 10 percent at a cruising speed of 10 knots, while fuel consumption remains below 8 gallons per hour per engine at cruise. Benetti says the efficiency gains allowed engineers to reduce fuel capacity without compromising practical cruising range and instead expand the black- and gray-water tanks, supporting longer stays at anchor.

The Oasis 36M also replaces traditional hydraulic actuators on systems such as garage doors, lifting mechanisms and the Oasis Deck wings with electric actuation. The change reduces maintenance requirements, eliminates the risk of hydraulic-oil leaks and cuts mechanical noise and vibration.

Traditional shaft-line propulsion remains the foundation, while a Siemens Siship EcoProp hybrid system is available for owners seeking reduced fuel consumption, emissions and noise. Additional technology includes SCR emission-reduction systems and Benetti’s D.gree predictive-maintenance platform, which uses digital-twin technology, structural modeling and machine learning to monitor the yacht’s systems and help identify maintenance needs before they become problems.
