New Yachts: Lazzara LSY 95

This Lazzara has more volume than you might expect on a 95-footer.

Space. Speed. Technology. These are the initial descriptors that came to mind as I looked over the information on Lazzara’s LSY 95, a mega-size express cruiser based on the builder’s earlier LSX 92. One of the 92’s signature features was its fold-down terrace off the master stateroom; the 92 was one of the early yachts of this ilk to include a balcony. On the LSY 95, the fold-down section is forward, next to the galley belowdecks. Owners can now enjoy their morning coffee seaside—literally.

An atriumlike feeling belowdecks is also a Lazzara express-cruiser trait, and to that end, the galley has 12 feet of headroom. That’s also the number to the top of the main deck’s windows. Combine the light passing through the salon and hullside windows with 518 square feet of main-deck living space and 875 square feet of belowdecks area, and you get an airy, voluminous vessel accommodating five staterooms and quarters for four crew.

The LSY 95 has a full-beam master stateroom along with four VIPs, all with en suite heads.

There’s yet more room on the 341-square-foot flybridge, which is protected by a hardtop measuring 17 feet, 3 inches long by 10 feet, 9 inches wide. Under that hardtop is a table with seating to port. There’s wraparound seating aft. To starboard is a wet bar with stools.

More alfresco zones include a foredeck lounge with a hot tub, and a circular cockpit sofa that rotates electrically to face aft and enjoy the aquamarine scene with friends and sundowners. That sofa is also a good spot to keep an eye on swimmers diving off the full-beam teak swim platform. A retractable shade extends from the hardtop over the cockpit sofa to keep everyone cool. Abaft the sofa is a sun pad for four that sits atop the transom garage, which can house a tender or PWC.

Power for the LSY 95 is triple Volvo Penta 1200IPS (standard) or 1350IPS (optional) diesels. With the optional 1350s, the builder says the yacht should cruise at 28 knots and have a 34-knot top-end speed. Based on the yacht’s 1,700-gallon fuel capacity, Lazzara projects a 450-nautical-mile range at cruise speed.

The yacht’s deep-V hull form should make her seakindly, and Lazzara is building the LSY 95 with carbon fiber in all structural areas to keep weight relatively low—displacement is 150,623 pounds. Foam core in the hull further adds rigidity without weight. The yacht’s 4-foot-10-inch draft also makes her Bahamas-friendly.

The Lazzara LSY 95 is expected to launch by summer 2021. The builder also has plans on the drawing board for a 65-foot express model.
