The UK’s Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design and Scandinavia’s Windy created the Windy SLR 60 as a tender capable of delivering speed, performance and range in almost all conditions. The high-performance boat carries 59 feet, 7 inches of waterline and is built using Windy’s resin-transfer molding. This strong, lightweight construction helps give the SLR 60 a reported range of 850 nautical miles at 25 knots, while the vessel’s bow flare and chine placements should help deliver a dry ride.

Whom It’s For: The Windy SLR 60 was commissioned as a superyacht chase boat, and its design details mirror its mothership. Production SLR 60s will be built in Västervik, Sweden.

Picture This: The Gulf Stream is running against the wind, but the bite is on at Grand Bahama, and the owner and five-person crew are in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fortunately, the SLR 60′s deep-V hull, optimized freeboard, full-height windshield, bow flare and 44-knot top speed deliver a quick, sporty and relatively dry round-trip commute. The boat’s deck design also makes for a fantastic day of casting.
