Wally’s newest boat is an outboard version of the 48 Wallytender. In partnership with Ferretti Group, the 48 Wallytender X will make its world debut at the 2020 Miami Yacht Show.

Powered with quad 450 hp Mercury Verado 450R engines, the builder says the 48 Wallytender X can cruise at 40 knots for 320 nautical miles. Top hop? 55 knots.Tilt those outboards up, and draft is just 28 inches at full load.

Furthermore, the four outboards are split, putting two to port and two to starboard. This allows for a centrally-located, retractable, hydraulic boarding passerelle or a swim ladder for easy access to the water or the beach.

“As a hotspot for the outboard yachting lifestyle, Florida is the perfect place to unveil this exciting new model,” says Wally managing director Stefano de Vivo. “With four 450 outboard racing engines primed to unleash astounding speeds, the 48 Wallytender X will undoubtedly turn heads and be the perfect match for anyone who loves high-performance boats.”

Comfort is found in the 48 Wallytender X’s two sunbeds: one forward and one aft. The aft sunbed is larger, measuring at about 60 square feet; the forward sunbed is 50 square feet. Belowdecks, there’s additional seating available and a head to port. Because the 48 Wallytender X uses outboard engines, its entire engine compartment, mirroring that of the inboard version, is freed for stowage space.

The alfresco dining area seats up to eight guests. The galley has a sink, a refrigerator, a cooktop and an ice maker.

The 48 Wallytender X’s hull is constructed with carbon fiber. It also has carbon-fiber decking, and the furniture and panels are teak. Joystick controls help make docking easier.

“We are very proud of what we have achieved in this new outboard version of the 48 Wallytender,” says Wally Founder Luca Bassani. “We have been able to maintain its strong aesthetic identity and the many practical features found on the inboard model, perfectly packaged to serve the needs of clients who prefer the outboard experience in their boating lifestyle, including top speeds and high levels of performance.”
