Merle Wood & Associates is the joint central agent for sale of the 147-foot Cheoy Lee Dorothea III, with an asking price of $11,955,000.

Dorothea III is a 2007 build that has cruised more than 170,000 miles in the past eight years, according to the brokerage house. The yacht has had two refits that Merle Wood calls major: one in 2011, and another in 2015. Most recently, Dorothea III completed an Atlantic and South America circumnavigation that included cruising the fjords of southern Chile and Argentina.

There are four staterooms for as many as nine guests, along with a gymnasium and quarters for as many as nine crew. The owner’s deck is private with its own sitting room, on the bridge level.

According to Merle Wood, Dorothea III consumes only 26.4 gallons of fuel per hour at 10 knots, giving her a range of more than 6,000 nautical miles.

How is Dorothea III built? With steel. It’s 20 millimeters at the keel, 12 millimeters going out from the keel, and 8 millimeters to the bulwarks. The superstructure is FRP with carbon fiber in high-stress areas.
