Apax Partners-backed Marlink has announced its acquisition of OmniAccess , with the deal expected to close in early 2018 following regulatory approvals.
The combined group is expected to be a worldwide leader in maritime VSAT services, with nearly $500 million in expected revenues, about 1,000 employees and a global infrastructure to support installations on more than 4,000 vessels so far.
Marlink’s aim is to expand the reach of OmniAccess products, including nextGen BroadBeam VSAT.
OmniAccess was established in 2002 and is based in Spain’s Balearic Islands. Its business focuses on superyachts, boutique cruise lines and river-cruise vessels, with a VSAT network of more than 24 satellite beams in C- and Ku-band.
