Sabre Yachts combined traditional styling with contemporary comfort in its Sabre 38 Salon Express. A portside settee and table are on the main deck. The helm is to starboard with a single Stidd chair. Belowdecks are a portside galley, an L-shaped settee that can convert to a double berth, and a forepeak master stateroom. With the standard 300 hp Volvo Penta D4 IPS400s, the top hop is 32.8 knots and cruising speed is 25 knots. At press time, there were at least seven 38 Salon Expresses on the market, ranging from $329,000 to $675,000.

From the Archive

“From afar, the 38 Express shares styling characteristics with its bigger sister, the  Sabre 42 Express. Upon further inspection, however, you’ll notice the subtle tweaks that naturally evolve in the design process. The transom corners have more of a radius, while the beam increases slightly from the waterline to the sheer. The forward cabin sweeps forward, transitioning in the deck seamlessly.”
