Volvo Penta has debuted it Easy Connect app, which lets yacht owners view boat, engine and route data on mobile devices, whether on board or at home.
On board, Easy Connect provides a dashboard-style display of real-time yacht and engine data.
Ashore, it can recapture stored routes and data. A map function allows social-media sharing, and for maintenance, the app sends engine data and troubleshooting codes to the dealer.
“Easy Connect is the next logical step in our philosophy of Easy Boating, built around fully integrated smart systems from helm to prop and beyond,” Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas, stated in a press release. “We’re totally committed to bringing to market innovative solutions that will make it easier for people to enjoy the unique boating lifestyle.”
Two operating modes: Captain’s View shows route, engine speed, coolant temperature, fuel tank levels, battery status, engine hours, oil pressure and alarm data. Home View displays information from previous cruises, including maps and routes.
Compatible devices: The free Easy Connect app is available for iOS 10 or later devices, and an Android version is expected soon.
