Sterling

October 3, 2007
The Sterling 3800 Center Console is a Michael Peters design with a pronounced flare forward and a tumblehome transom. She should be a hit with fishermen who need to cover serious miles, and with those who have weigh-ins with time restraints. The fully cored, inch-thick, stepped hull is constructed with Corecell Kevlar and advanced epoxy vinlyester resins. Speed will be a selling point, touted at more than 70 mph thanks to the 22-degree deadrise and triple outboard application. Twin 6-foot, macerated fishboxes and a 60-gallon live well hold catch and bait under the self-bailing deck.
