Van Der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has started construction on Project 111.11, which is a custom 112-foot yacht designed by Guido de Groot.
The owners, who are experienced boaters, based the design on the yard’s previous launch, Lady Lene. The new yacht will include a fully custom superstructure, with interiors by Carla Guilhem.
“The initial brief was to blend their own design with a proven hull form for a reinforced all-aluminum hull in a full-displacement format,” Van Der Valk’s head of sales, Yoeri Bijker, stated in a press release. “Using the engineering platform from a successful build like Lady Lene generates major cost and efficiency synergies while allowing for an entirely different look and feel.”
What are the key elements in the owners’ spec? They want five staterooms including a full-beam master on the main deck, spacious crew quarters and a multifunctional beach club with a garage for watersports gear and toys.
