Seven Must-See Yachts Right Now

From polar expeditions to family cruising, this year's new builds reflect an industry listening to its owners.

A new boating season means an armada of new yacht models is on the way; for every boat, there’s an owner. Here’s a quick look at seven new yachts on the horizon, ranging from a midsize family cruiser and a green-boating-inspired coupe to a house-size power catamaran built with cutting-edge composites and a superyacht purpose-built to cruise the high latitudes. Dive in and find the right fit for you.

GX38 Voyager | Extreme Efficiency for Adventure

A client with specific cruising ambitions asked GX Superyachts to develop the GX38 Voyager. It’s a vessel intended for ambitious itineraries in severe weather, suggesting a true adventure profile in the owner’s plans. The GX38 Voyager will have hybrid propulsion with solar panels, diesel generators and electric motors. Azimuth pod drives are optional, as is a hull strengthened for encounters with ice. Top hop is expected to be 16 knots, but at 6 knots in hybrid mode, range expands to a globe-girdling 10,000 nautical miles. The hull can be ordered in ultrawide configuration for more interior volume with a flexible layout.

Greenline 42 | A Versatile Platform with Owner Options

Greenline Yachts has this model under construction at its shipyard in Slovenia, with projections for a top hop of 25 knots and the option of an H-Drive 6G system for silent electric maneuvering. Owners also have choices on the aft deck, which can be ordered with a drop-down transom and removable furniture. Two interior styles are available as well, both by Marco Casali. Ten solar panels can produce 4.3 kW of power for all the onboard systems, and for faster battery recharging. “It’s designed to provide decades of enjoyment with options that make each yacht unique to its owner,” says Greenline CEO Vladimir Zinchenko.

Iliad 60 | Offshore, Long-Range Capability

This powercat is intended to go far, with a reported range of 3,500 nautical miles. Owners can also opt for e-Motion Hybrid Propulsion, which can switch between diesel and electric systems. Iliad says it can configure this yacht’s main deck to suit owner preferences, with the galley and salon being the main gathering spaces. The king-berth master stateroom is belowdecks with the guest staterooms, all en suite. Owners can choose to add a laundry room, workshop, office and separate crew quarters depending on the type of cruising they have in mind. Draft is less than 5 feet, making the Iliad 60 capable of accessing many harbors.

Marex 390 | Made for Family Cruising

Owners of Marex boats played a significant role in helping to create the Marex 390. Feedback they gave the shipyard resulted in features such as a removable swim-platform table for morning coffee or sunset cocktails, a captain’s chair at the helm with various adjustments for ideal ergonomics, and a transparent section in the cockpit door that’s intended to improve the skipper’s sightlines aft during close-quarters maneuvering. Two staterooms accommodate up to six people, so the whole family and the dog can come along for the ride. Air conditioning is optional for  cruising in warmer climates like Florida.

CL Yachts CLC115 | The Builder’s First Catamaran

The CLC115 is the first recreational catamaran from CL Yachts, and the first model in its C-series. Power is twin 1,300 hp MAN V-8 diesels, with a hybrid system and solar panels as options. There’s also a Smart Home module that can manage climate control, lighting and other systems for energy efficiency. Owners have a choice of interior layouts, with a maximum capacity of 12 guests in staterooms that include a full-beam owners’ space. One of the main-deck guest staterooms can also be configured as a massage room, nursery or gym. The shipyard is projecting a top hop of 18 knots with a cruise speed of 10 knots.

Invictus TT550 | Attention to All the Details

Designer Christian Grande is known for homing in on even the smallest elements of style. That’s evident in the Invictus TT550, which, among other things, incorporates a new type of water-resistant upholstery textiles to add durability while respecting the yacht’s aesthetics. Foldout side terraces increase the dance space at anchor, while the semi-reverse bow cuts a chic profile against the sunset. The carbon-fiber hardtop protects the helm as well as the outdoor dining space, and a removable canopy can provide shade for the guest relaxation area at the bow. The belowdecks layout is flexible to suit each owner’s cruising needs.

Cantieri di Pisa Super Polaris 70 | Big Enough for Basketball

To create the Super Polaris 70, Cantieri di Pisa partnered with Antonio Luxardo on concept and design, and with Pulina Exclusive Interior. The project also begins a partnership between Cantieri di Pisa and  T. Mariotti, which is in the shipbuilding industry. The result is a steel-hull yacht with an aluminum superstructure that the shipyard says is ready for cruising anywhere between the North and South Poles. Outdoor areas can be set up for basketball, volleyball or padel, or can include installation of a countercurrent swimming pool. Notable spaces include a main-deck winter garden and an upper-deck VIP stateroom.
