Riviera will debut its 72 Sports Motor Yacht Series II stateside at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
The new model represents an evolution of the original 72 Sports Motor Yacht launched in 2018, incorporating technological advances and design refinements based on owner feedback.
“When we launched the 72 Sports Motor Yacht in 2018, it answered the demand for a luxurious, long-range motor yacht that excelled in all water sports,” stated Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst in a press release. “Over that time, technology has advanced allowing us to incorporate proven innovations across our range.”

The Series II has a reimagined exterior and interior with what the company describes as a “holistic refinement approach.” One thing that remains the same from its predecessor is a robust build and bluewater capabilities.
Boarding via the hydraulic swim platform, guests enter the cockpit via port or starboard transom doors that can lock flush when at anchor, effectively expanding the entertainment area. The cockpit includes a BBQ, wet bar and an insulated freezer.
One innovation on the Series II is an articulating swim platform that transforms into steps and is adjustable for different heights.

The alfresco deck serves as the yacht’s social center, offering protection from the elements while increasing the salon-level living area by one-third. It has high-gloss teak cabinets with twin drawer refrigerators.
An aft U-shaped galley comes equipped with an induction cooktop, oven/microwave, dishwasher and programmable refrigeration/freezer units. The salon includes L-shaped dining and a folding table. Electric blinds create privacy when desired.
The cockpit layout includes L-shaped lounges with tables and the foredeck accommodates a tender with a low-profile davit, but converts to an eight-person entertainment space with fold-away lounge seating, tables and an optional awning.

An enclosed flybridge, accessible via stairs from the salon, has lounge seating, LED TV, fold-out berth for guests and access to an aft deck that can be enclosed as well.
This 72-footer’s helm setup includes touchscreen displays with outstanding visibility through a curved glass windscreen. Options include a third helm chair and the Twin Disc Express Positioning System for precise station-keeping in varying conditions.
Owners can choose from a four-stateroom Classic layout or three-stateroom Presidential design. Both versions have a full-beam owners’ stateroom with king berth.
A separate crew cabin with private access from the alfresco deck can also serve as a utility room for watersports gear. The yacht also has a laundry space with separate washer and dryer.
Power options include twin 1,800 hp or 2,000 hp V-12 MAN diesels.
The Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht Series II will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the Bahia Mar Yachting Centre, C Dock – Green Zone, starting October 29.
