Greenline Yachts has launched the Greenline 42, a new coupe-style model developed based upon owner feedback and designed to expand the Solvenia-based yacht builder’s range, filling the gap between the Greenline 40 and Greenline 45. The Greenline 42 debuted earlier this year at boot Düsseldorf.
The Greenline 42 has a gentle S-shaped sheerline, a streamlined hardtop design and 360 degrees of glass around the superstructure, which practically provide light and views, as well as an increased sense of volume. The exterior and interior design were developed between Greenline and designer Marco Casali, who also worked on the Greenline 58.
“New models are rare occurrences at Greenline Yachts, because we pride ourselves on the longevity of our designs,” stated Global Business Director and Chief Experience Officer Alessandro Lorenzon, in a press release. “We started by collecting feedback from our owners and, when we looked at their experiences, a few things became clear. They wanted more cockpit space for relaxing, higher speeds under power and a more modern design language.”
The Greenline 42’s cockpit layout is designed for owner flexibility with a four-person dining table that can be positioned between seating on either side, while optional configurations include a drop-down aft platform and an open space for sunbathing. The yacht is also set up with a foredeck lounge inspired by Greenline’s larger models.
The salon and cockpit function as a combined indoor-outdoor entertaining space. Sliding windows in the galley and salon doors create a seamless connection with the cockpit. The galley setup includes an oven, two-burner induction cooktop and optional additional refrigerator. Stowage includes overhead lockers, starboard-side cabinet and in-sole compartments.
An eco-aware builder, the Greenline 42 has the company’s power management system, including 10 hardtop-mounted solar panels producing up to 4.5 kW of energy. Electricity is stored in a standard 22 kWh house battery bank, with an option to increase capacity to 66 kWh.
Power options include twin 250 hp Yanmar diesel engines or Greenline’s H-Drive 6G hybrid system. The hybrid option has 23 kW electric motors between the diesel engines and propellers, allowing all-electric operation up to about 6.5 knots. The Greenline 42 has a reported top speed of 25 knots running on the diesels.
Interior accommodations include a two-stateroom layout: an owner’s stateroom forward and a guest stateroom to port that can be set up with twins or a double. An optional second head is available. Interior styling is offered in three finishes, including “honey teak” and “modern oak.”
Greenline owner and CEO Vladimir Zinchenko said the new model was designed to complement, rather than replace, the Greenline 40, which has sold more than 100 units since its introduction in 2012.
