Grand Banks has expanded its 60 Series with the new GB65 Skylounge, a 65-foot long-range cruiser designed to offer greater interior volume and flexibility without giving up the performance and efficiency of the platform.
The 65 stretches the salon by four feet compared with the GB60, while the cockpit gains another foot. Its 19-foot, 2-inch beam creates room for an amidships master suite with a king berth, en suite and substantial storage, along with a forward VIP and a flexible starboard cabin that can serve as a guest stateroom, office or utility room.
The new Skylounge adds another living space above, with an L-shaped settee, dining table, refrigeration and dayhead. Opening side and aft windows provide ventilation and help give the space an open feel, while the settee can serve as a watch berth during longer passages. The cockpit is equally adaptable, with space for entertaining, fishing or carrying diving and watersports gear.
Grand Banks’ V-Warp construction uses carbon fiber and a lightweight structure designed to reduce resistance and fuel consumption. Standard power is twin 1,000 hp Volvo D13 diesels on straight shafts, while the first GB65 Skylounge is equipped with twin 1,000 hp Volvo IPS 1350s, pushing the yacht beyond 30 knots. At 20 knots, the 65 reportedly burns 37 gallons per hour total, while a 10-knot cruise delivers a claimed range of 2,344 nautical miles.
