PSP Southampton

The PSP Southampton Boat Show is held at the North Eastern end of Southampton Water. There are many marinas in and around Southampton, and ferry and public transportation services make it easy for yachtsmen cruising in the area to tie up and get to the show.

East Cowes Marina is located on the eastern banks of the Medina River, just upstream from the Cowes town center. The marina has 140 transient slips with shore-power, water, wireless Internet and an onsite chandlery. The Red Funnel Ferry runs from the Isle of Wight to the Town Quay in Southampton, about a five minute walk from the show.

In addition, there are waterside homes, restaurants, shops, and bars. The Hythe Ferry runs daily to Southampton, and will also drop you off a quick walk from the boat show at the Town Quay.

While the French Riviera is one of the more time-tested cruising areas in the world, its historic buildings and the attention given to the preservation of its rich and interesting past hasn’t necessarily provided yachtsmen in the area with large marina complexes. However, there a bountiful sheltered harbors, lovely quays, and beautiful anchorages all along the coast. With the Monaco Boat Show in Port Hercule, the Main harbor of Monaco, the best bet for getting to the show by boat means staying in a nearby harbor and taking advantage of public transportation. The following harbor and ports are all within about 45 minutes of Port Hercule, and would offer a welcome escape from the on-the-water extravagance of the show.
