Wellcraft 260 Sport

The 260 Excalibur Sport is a sterndrive runabout with a reported cruising range of 264 miles.

Among the five new boats Wellcraft announced for model year 2002 is the 260 Excalibur Sport, a sterndrive runabout with a reported cruising range of 264 miles.

According to the manufacturer, the 260 planes at 3.25 seconds and hits just over 60 mph at 4920 rpm with a Merc 496 MAG Bravo III engine. She is part of Wellcraft’s family performance line and has a Step Lift V-II bottom.

Ski and kneeboard stowage is under the after bench seat, and the coaming pads have stowage space and drink holders. Bucket seats are to port and starboard. There is forward seating with an optional bow filler cushion with table that converts to a SunLounge. L-shape seating aft also converts to a SunLounge with an optional table and filler cushion.

The 260 has a fiberglass cockpit liner with microballoon-filled strakes for additional strength. There is an electric engine hatch, and the through-bolted engine mounts are aluminum. All deck hardware is through-bolted and stainless steel. The standard integrated swim platform includes a retractable stainless-steel swim ladder.
