Simrad and Lowrance have announced a sonar-imaging system called StructureScan 3D, which is designed to help anglers better see the location of fish and structure in relation to the boat.

StructureScan 3D creates high-resolution, 180-degree-wide, three-dimensional views in water depths to 300 feet, as well as to 600 feet port and starboard. The manufacturer calls the detail in the resulting image “unprecedented” and “true-to-life.”

The new feature is designed for compatibility with HDS Gen3 fishfinder/chartplotter systems, along with NSS and NSO evo2 navigational systems.
