Video: Onboard the Hinckley Dasher

Yachting sea trials the all-electric Hinckley Dasher runabout.

Hinckley Yachts launched an all-electric runabout earlier this year and we jumped on the chance to climb aboard. Meet the Hinckley Dasher.

We took her for a spin in Oyster Bay, New York, and saw a top hop of 23.5 knots. Standard cruise speed is about 8.5 knots, which gives you about four hours of run time. She’s powered by twin 80 hp Torqeedo engines and two 40 Kwh BMW i3 lithium batteries. In addition to her all-electric powerplants, another innovation onboard Dasher is her 3D-printed components including titanium trim pieces, singe-lever controls, joystick and helm console.

Quick specs: Her length overall is 28’6″, her beam is 8’7″ and her draft is 2’4″.
