As everyone in the world of yachting is eagerly awaiting this summer’s debut of the new-generation PJ48M SuperSport, the Palmer Johnson team in Wisconsin has been lining up a buyer not only for Hull No. 2, but also for the third PJ170 Sportyacht.

The PJ48M SuperSport (shown in the photograph at right) has a futuristic carbon-fiber build and a maximum speed of 32 knots, driven by a pair of 2,600-bhp MTU 16V 2000 M94s. There’s not a single flat surface on her exterior, according to Palmer Johnson, which hopes the look will set a new bar in the megayacht class. Even still, the PJ48M SuperSport has all the bells and whistles that modern motoryacht designs encompass, including a large water-level beach club, floor-to-ceiling windows and a full-beam master suite with a fold-out balcony. She’ll accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms.

The PJ170 Sportyacht is also a head-turner. She takes 12 guests in five staterooms. Built in aluminum, the PJ170 Sportyacht has features including a forward tender bay that converts to a swimming pool, slide-out wing stations to port and starboard, and hidden stairs that can be tucked away when not in use.
