Vicem Yachts in Turkey says Hull No. 1 of the Vicem 50 has completed sea trials and shipped out for the United States. The yacht will be commissioned at Semmes Yachts & Brokerage in Annapolis, Maryland, prior to delivery to her owner.

According to the builder, initial sea trials showed that even with the addition of heavy aftermarket equipment including a gyrostabilizer and a dinghy lift, the Vicem 50 hit a top speed of 25.4 knots in 4-foot seas and had a range of 477 nautical miles at 8.5 knots. Power is standard twin 435-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS600s.

On versions of the Vicem 50 with lighter equipment, the builder says, expectations are for a top hop of 28 knots.

Three additional hulls are already under construction with owners awaiting them. A fifth hull is scheduled to go into production soon. Hulls 2 and 3 are likely to be delivered in early 2021, with Hulls 4 and 5 due in the first quarter of 2021.

What options can Vicem 50 owners choose? Tunnels to reduce draft; straight shafts and a conventional drivetrain; a flybridge; galley up or down; a two- or three-stateroom layout; and various cabinetry, countertops and soles.
