Just in time for the summer boating season, the Sea Tow Foundation is adding 20 life jacket loaner stands (and 1,000 life jackets to fill them) to its network of 260 stands across the United States. The life jackets are being purchased with a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, which is administered by the U.S. Coast Guard. As with all life jackets on Sea Tow Foundation loaner stands, the new ones will be available to any boater who needs to borrow a jacket.

Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Stands have loaned more than 26,000 life jackets to recreational boaters at no cost since 2008,” said Kristen Frohnhoefer, a member of Sea Tow Foundation’s board.

Recipients of the newest stands include:
Grosse Pointe Power Squadron in Michigan * Johnson City Sail & Power Squadrons in Tennessee * Mid Illini Sail and Power Squadron in Illinois * Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission * Saco Police Department in Maine * Thurmond Lake Sail and Power Squadron in South Carolina; Stonington, Maine * Coast Guard flotillas in several states.
